Artificial Intelligence, What is it?
Artificial intelligence, as the name suggests is the intelligence of Human beings induced into robots or machines. It is to make machines able to feel, think like humans and act like (mimic) human beings. It is primarily the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like human beings.The term may also be applied to any machine that exhibits traits associated with a human mind such as learning and problem-solving. Artificial intelligence is to enable a machine to rationalize and take actions that have the best ever method to achieving a specified goal.Science is ever evolving, all those terms which were previously used under Artificial Intelligence like calculation,computation,data keeping, now have become outdated. Present day education is also evolving so as to enable children to catch up with ever evolving Science and challenges.
What Artificial Intelligence includes?
The Artificial Intelligence is continuously evolving and its uses are endless. In Earlier days Computation and calculations would have sufficed the process of enhancing intelligence, but the field of Artificial intelligence requires a cross disciplinary approach based on linguistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Psychology, Social graphs, and more. Learning, perception after reasoning are all resultants of studies under artificial intelligence. Algorithms simple as well as complex are used for framing artificial intelligence. It is the field of future. The present scheme of studies requires induction of Artificial intelligence in its curriculum. Central Board Of School Education , New Delhi has begun the course and the biggest chain of Education of India, i.e. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is going to provide this course for the 8th class students of all its schools from the session 2020-21, i.e. the present session.
Applications of Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence is the field of technology embedded with all the scheme of studies at school level. It is the intelligence demonstrated by a machine in contrast to human beings. It is the field which will empower our future progress. The real life problems of financial industry, Health care, consumer analytics all are being catered using artificial intelligence. Machines that exhibit AI include computers playing games against us , self driving cars, robots doing minor operations and cleaning work efficiently. It is the AI which enables a computer to play chess against Grand masters of Chess and challenging them. Healthcare industry is supposed to take its optimum usage in case of any pandemic or curing communicable diseases.The financial industry uses AI to detect and block all such activities which seem to be fishy and unusual. AI is also being used to help trading make easier. The statisticians role is done efficiently by computers so as to check on demand and supply of products.
AI course in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Schools
Being a pace setting organisation in the field of school education, it is Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan which has decided to introduce Artificial Intelligence skill course in class VIII from the session 2020-21. For this course no fees will be charged by CBSE either for registration or affiliation. In the whole session 12 hours will be framed out in the Time Table for this course. Initially only 100 schools were chosen for the course and 200 teachers were trained through a training conducted by INTEL and CBSE . Now it has been decided to be imparted to all schools of KVS. As per CBSE the marks allotment for the course will be 35 marks for practicals and 15 marks for theory. A teacher from each school will be trained to impart the skill within school hours.
It is a good news for the Kendriya Vidyalaya students, and it is an effort to make the next generation ready for future.It is a new age skill and its a great step taken by KVS to prepare a future work force for new age skills.
