The Bamboo Tree

A Bamboo tree which grows in China is planted, watered and fertilized for the first four years. In spite of all the efforts, it shows no visible sign of growth, but sometime during its fifth year , it shoots up up to 90 feet within 6 weeks. Here the lesson learnt from nature is that the faith and patience are the corner stones of all the endeavors and relationships. It is therefore important to understand that thins unfold in their natural course and tampering with it will only result in distortion or damage. Power of patience is the power of our world.

Willingness to suppress annoyance

Patience is the willingness to suppress annoyance and pain without complaints and loss of temper. Patience makes us hardworking and tolerant. It teaches us not to lose control in critical situations. The key to everything is patience. By practicing patience we can become strong within. It is the power of patience of a father which binds the whole family, it is the power of patience of a Bus Driver to navigate through deep curves and make the passengers reach their destinations. Power of patience of a heart surgeon doing surgery is the biggest example of patience.

Seeing innocence in others

Patience involves seeing the innocence in others. It helps in eliminating small irritations. The biggest advantage of being patient is that it creates more peaceful and loving self. The more patient we are the more accepting we will become. A patient man is loved by the whole society.

It doesn’t mean that we can use patience as an excuse for being inactive. If we aren’t making any efforts and are thinking that we are being patient, it means we are be fooling ourselves. In the words of Swami Vivekananda,”Cut the bondage of all worldly affections; go beyond laziness and all care as to what becomes of you. Never turn back to see the result of what you have done.”

Don't smash eggs to get chickens

To conclude, We get the chickens by hatching the eggs, not by smashing them, But hatching should be done carefully and actively.” In today’s world Patience is a great virtue which can eradicate all the corruption and violence. There is marvelous power of patience In the words of Shakespeare- “How poor are they, who have not patience! What wound did ever heal , but by patience?”.
