Special Forces of Indian Army are meant to be tough, rigid and professionally trained . They not only undergo basic training, but also have to undergo tough training schedules at some of the Training schools specially made for them. Nahan, a place at Sirmour District of Himachal has been the SFTS centre of India for long. With world- Class infrastructures , these SFTS are capable of training not only Indian but foreign troops too. It is being heard that the SFTS of India is being shifted to Bakloh.
With a world-class infrastructure , the SFTS can house troops from foreign countries too for intense training sessions. Demography of Bakloh is very good for military training purposes. It has remained a favorite destination for British army in the Pre- independence era.
Indian Army in her new course of action wants maximum of 500 army personal to be trained in every course of special forces. For preparation of defense personal in any terrain, many of the training theaters are needed. In pursue of this , Bakloh has been chosen as one of the SFTS. The spectrum of training needs expansion and induction of Bakloh as SFTS is a big move for it. Recent successful training sessions with friend nations held at Bakloh have proved the decision of choice of Bakloh as SFTS correct.
Turkmenistan, United States, Cambodia, Oman, Kazakhstan , Mongolia are some of the friend nations of India. Army troops of the above said nations have visited small place of India called Bakloh for their trainings. Joint Army exercises and several operations namely Al-Nagah-II, Ex Nomadic Elephant, Vajra Prahar, etc. have had been held at Bakloh . The terrain and demography of Bakloh is suitable for such trainings. Bakloh seems to be changing in a big way due to the SFTS being tagged to its name. The Joint operations held at Bakloh can be read in detail at Bakloh News.
The role of Para troops and elite air borne forces in Indian army is being planned to expand in a big way.The Special Forces are an upgrade of Parachute Commando battalions of Indian Army. Basically the SFTS has not yet got a permanent location, but it is presently addressed to be at Nahan, Himachal Pradesh. THE SFTS is to impart rigorous trainings and needs such personal who are mentally, physically as well as psychologically fit. The para forces of Indian Army are said to be the most elite forces with toughest personal serving in the batallion.
SFTS demands world class infrastructure. As it is visited by troops from many nations, so it needs a lot of security checks as well as world class medical and hosting facilities. In future if we see Bakloh as a SFTS branch of the Nation, our Bakloh will indeed be benefited. It will not only provide existence of Bakloh as an elite place in the map of India, but also give it the recognition , that it had in Indian History. Looking forward to see the growth of Bakloh as one of the best Special forces Training School.
